Our Immigration form is DONE!

I'm so excited! I just received the call from Officer "L". She was so happy for us as well. She is putting in the mail to us today! Thank you Jesus for another answered prayer! :)

Problem with our Homestudy

On 7/23 the very sweet and helpful officer at NBC (Officer "L") that is working on our immigration form said our letter states we would take a SN up to age 26 and our homestudy said we would take a SN child up to 18 months. They don't match and has to go by the homestudy.

I called our Social Worker and our agency. They fedex-d an updated homestudy to reflect up to age 26 months. Lauren turned 18 months old Monday 7/26.

The officer at NBC is leaving for vacation Friday for a week so she said that the form is ready to go as soon as she receives the corrected homestudy. We are so thankful that Officer "L" pulled our file to be expedited and found the mistake so quick.

Chinese Visa Applications completed and sent off

We received response from the Travel Agency that our Adoption Agency uses. They have sent our Chinese Visa Applications to be processed and we should have our passports returned to us within 2 weeks.

Praise Report

We found out from our agency this week that Lauren Yun Niu went to hospital in April 2010 for check up and there were no abnormalities with her heart! Thank you Jesus for her healing!!!

She is 81 cm tall, has 16 teeth, her feet are 12 cm and we aren't sure on her size. The latest report stated 10.5 kg which I believe is approximately 24 pounds. I don't think this is right because she was 10.5 kg at 11 months so who knows?

We registered at Target and Wal-mart. Boy was that funny! We have no idea what we are doing! LOL.

Chad and I are getting Lauren's room ready. We seemed to have collected a lot of junk in the last 11 years of marriage so we have been throwing stuff away and selling in our next yard sale which is 7/31.

On 7/21 we had a 3 hour phone conference with Mike at our agency. He is "estimating" our travel to be 9/9 - 9/25. We are praying and believing that we get to travel in September! There are 7 families in our travel group; however, 1 family is Hague and will not be able to travel with us. Hopefully, they will be able to go in November though. There were 4 non-special needs and 3 special needs.

We continue to pray for Lauren's health and protection.

LOA! Thank you Jesus!

Our agency called me today and said that they received our LOA today! We are so happy! We will receive the LOA tomorrow in hand. We will sign, then Chad is going to hand deliver to the agency.

We are now waiting for our immigration form to be revised stating we are adopting a SN child. Our agency hopes we will travel by mid-September since we won't be able to travel in October due to the trade shows and festivals.

We are in awe of God. His timing is perfect and as hard as it is to wait after seeing Lauren's face, we know that God is in control. Thank you Jesus for another miracle!

Met with Pediatrician today

This afternoon my husband and I met the pediatric group in our town. They have an Open House for new patients to meet some of the doctors and take a tour. We LOVED them! They are super nice and the office is very clean and kid friendly.

Today I received an email from Victor regarding NBC in MO handling our I600A. He said we are still grandfathered; however, our local USCIS is no longer handling adoption paperwork. He said to expect our updated I797C in 2 weeks to 45 days. We are a little disappointed but trusting God in His timing.

We can't wait to have our sweet little girl in our arms!

Our daughter (I love saying that)

There is so much that has happened the last couple of weeks. We had met with the social worker on 5/28 to switch to special needs. We checked female or male and left it up to God. Chad has been spending a lot of time with my cousin's boys and his cousins that he really wanted a little boy.

2 weeks before referral I had a dream that we were handed a beautiful round faced girl. I woke up and told Chad and he said again to me "I want a boy".

On the evening of 6/21, we prayed for Victor at our agency as he would be choosing the child for us. We prayed that God would direct him and guide his hand.

I was at work on Tuesday, 6/22. When the phone rang at 10:30 and the caller id said it was my agency, my heart raced. Dana told me that we had a referral for little girl from China BUT..... I thought oh no! here we go again. Why can't anything go right for us? Dana proceeded to tell me that the file had not been translated. She went ahead and emailed to me. She said that Yun Niu has ASD which if you had a minor heart defect, this is the one you would want. She advised me that they were going to request the file be translated AND request an extension on our deadline to accept until we have it translated.

I tried to open the email but was having trouble because of the chinese in the pdf. I called Chad and told him I emailed to him. He called me a few minutes later (I'm still trying to open her file) and said She is BEAUTIFUL! Chad was so in love with her. After several more minutes, I was able to open the file and saw her face. I immediately thought of my dream. She has the roundest cutest face! :)

She was 16 months old at time of referral. She turned 17 months old on 6/26. There were some parts of her referral in English so we were able to get excited about a few things. Chad happened to be at mom's that day. Everyone was outside swimming. Chad walked out and showed everyone her picture and of course they all thought she was precious. We had emailed to my brother to show him her picture. His wife's uncle spoke Chinese and we were hopeful that he was able to interpret some for us. His office was next door to a Chinese Cardiologist so they went to his office and the Dr advised strongly against it. When my brother told me this, my heart fell. He said she would have to have open heart surgery.

Chad and I were so upset and when I got home that evening, Chad said "This is our daughter and we have to go get her." I told him I felt the same way. We were in agreement that if she had to have surgery, we were going to provide her with the love and care she needed. We began to pray that God would heal her!

The next morning Chad had umbilical hernia surgery. We were sitting in hospital as I received the call from our agency that the file had been translated. Chad hadn't gone back for surgery yet so he was able to read some information on her. The last update we have on her is as of 12/15/09.

*She was approximately 10 days old when found on a bridge. (This breaks my heart that her parents might have struggled with the idea of giving her up.)

* Yun stands for her hometown. Niu means "we hope she will be clever, beautiful, happy and healthy, grow happily." (For the last 4 years, I have been praying that Lauren will be healthy, happy, pretty and smart! To God be the Glory! He worked another miracle!)

*She spent 12 days in hospital for brochitis that went into pneumonia.

*At the age of 5 months, she was sent to foster family. She is adored by her foster family! Thank you Jesus!

*She has become a little princess, is cute and beautiful and plump face just like a red apple. (quote from the foster family)

*She can say mama, ge, yeye, zou, yao, and pouty when taking medicine, hands will wave and shows that she does not want to take it.

*She is 22 pounds (as of 12/15/09)

*She is active, restless and impatient sometimes. (Yikes! I have a feeling she is going to wear us out!)

*Her favorite toy is a doll

I immediately had her translated paperwork sent to the pediatrician we have chosen. They called me back around 3:00 (still in hospital with Chad) to advise she looked great and suggested we send to Pediatric Cardiologist.

I called Victor and Dana at 3:00 to advise we wanted to be locked in. This was our child!

The next day I heard from the Pediatric Cardiologist and he stated that Lauren's ASD is extremely minor and he's not sure why she's on the special needs list. Oh Hallelujah!

On 6/29, I was at work and checked my email and saw that we were PRE-APPROVED!!!! Oh I could have just danced for God right there. I couldn't seem to stop saying Thank You JESUS! LOL!

We are now waiting for our LOA. Our agency was closed last Friday and today for the holiday so I'm claiming good news tomorrow from them.

On 7/2, we received in the mail a letter from USCIS stating that our I600A paperwork to change to SN has been forwarded to NBC in MO. I was a little worried and concerned that this might slow our process. I'm dancing and praising God that He WILL move mountains for us.

The last 4 years have been so hard waiting for Lauren. We have been trying for 10 years to have a child of our own. I know some families that have waited longer. When i saw our little girl's face, I felt like God was saying to me: I was working miracles in your life all along and you just couldn't see it. Wow! Thank you Jesus!
