My Princess

Lauren started talking about Princesses not long ago.  She loves PINK and anything to do with Princesses.  We watch Princess movies and read Princess books.  Here are a few pictures of my princess.

Pretty in Pink

This little Princess likes to play in the dirt also.

The tub had a ring about it after giving her a bath.  She was so dirty afte playing in the dirt.

This princess was not very happy about having her picture made.

Happy 1 year Gotcha Day

On 9/6/2010, the most beautiful little girl was placed in my arms in Wuhan, Hubei, China.

I rubbed her back and she held onto me.

I couldn't take my eyes off of her.  She was perfect.

She was brave but yet so scared.  My heart was breaking for her.  I kept telling her it was okay.

Lauren needed us. We needed her.  She was everything we prayed for and more.

On 9/6/2011, we celebrated 1 year with our precious baby girl.  She's wearing outfit she wore on Gotcha Day.

We are thankful to God for choosing us to be her Mommy and Daddy.

10 months since Gotcha Day!

So I typed the year wrong.  I do realize we are in the year 2011.  We were in a hurry to meet Nana at the Aquatic Center.  Nana's church had rented it for the night.  Lauren had lots of fun.

Lauren is such a joy.  She has brought so much happiness into my life.  She is so smart.  It amazes me the things that come out of her mouth.  She knows her left and right hands/arms.  She can write L.  She is saying some of her ABC's.  She counts to 10.  She repeats everything and observes everything!

I can't imagine my life without her.  We are so thankful to God for blessing us.

Happy 4th of July (a little late)

Lauren joined gymnastics.  She refused to do the trapeze which I understand.  It's pretty scary hanging on and then falling in a pit of foam.  :)  The first 2 times of doing the trapeze she would swing it.  Her 3rd time of going to gymnastics she finally held on and I quickly let go of her.  She did great!

Playing Catch Up!

This is what happens when Daddy is to be watching Lauren instead of resting on couch.

My First Mother's Day!  She gives the sweetest hugs.

Her best buddy and cousin, Alissa Mae!

Lauren had more "first"

Easter Egg Hunt
We had a lovely dinner at BB's house with all of Lauren's cousins and family.  It was lots of fun.  Lauren didn't seem too excited about hunting eggs.

My nieces having fun in the ditch thanks to all the rain.

Lauren joining in fun but not letting to of my hand.

Barefoot outside!  Now that's country living!

Alissa had so much fun.

Easter 2011
Chad had to work the night before and didn't get home until 8:00 so he was too tired to go with us to church.  We went to BB's church, then lunch with JJ and Glenda, then home to take a nap, then to Alissa's church.  It was a very busy day!  Lauren didn't seem too excited about the Easter Baskets.

Dentist Appointment

Lauren had her 1st dental appointment 4/27/11 and she did as expected.  As soon as the dentist started touching her mouth she started crying.  Lauren has never been the same with doctors since the awful breathing treatments she had to do early April.  The dentist was very pleased with her teeth.

Lauren's 1st visit to the ZOO!

She loved the carousel.

Having fun with Uncle JJ and Aunt Glenda.

She wasn't afraid at all to pet the animals.

Good thing Daddy took her.  Mommy wouldn't have touched them.

7 months and sick

4/6/11 was 7 months since Gotcha Day.  She wasn't feeling well that day and was running a fever.  Took the picture below and took her to the doctor.  She was treated as if she had asthma and upper respitory infection.  I had to give her a breathing treatment and it was awful!  She screamed and cried like I've never heard her before.  It broke my heart.   After her not feeling better at all, I took her back to dr and she was diagnosed with RSV.  She had reached the peak and was feeling lots better by Saturday.  It was quite scary for me and so sad to see my baby so sick.

This is Lauren 4 days after being sick.  This was the dress we bought her in China.  Never imagined she would have grown so much.  This may be the only time she can wear this dress.  :)

6 months.....and spit!

We celebrated 6 months with Lauren on 3/6/11.

We are so blessed!  I thank God everyday for this beautiful and precious child that He placed in our arms.  She is such a happy baby and I am a happy Mommy!  She tells me she loves me, gives me the best hugs and the sweetest kisses.  She is everything I dreamed of and more.

We had our 6 month update and the social worker came out to talk to us and meet Lauren.  Of course, Lauren was her silly and sweet self.  She fed the sw invisible food, blew kisses, and spit on the floor.  Yes!  You read that correctly.....she tilted her head down and drooled, then SPIT on the floor.  I could have crawled under the table at that point.  Chad and I were in shock!  I corrected Lauren right then so that she would know this was unacceptable.  We have no idea why she did it.  Oh well, it made for a funny story.
